Mercedes’ luxury division, Maybach, has recently unveiled their latest addition to the electric car market with the Maybach EQS SUV. This stunning car truly sets a new standard for luxury electric vehicles.
Introducing the latest member of Mercedes’ luxury division: the Maybach EQS SUV, which happens to be their first-ever electric vehicle. While the regular EQS is already a posh ride, the Maybach version takes it up a notch. Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano was in for a treat when he got to take a closer look at this lavish SUV.
Check it out! The latest Audi Aicon concept car has ditched the traditional steering wheel and pedals. Meanwhile, Sergi noticed the copious amounts of chrome on the Maybach EQS SUV. The vehicle boasts a massive grille adorned with 3D chrome pinstripes, a sleek trim strip featuring Maybach branding, and small but noticeable Maybach logos placed all over the blocked-off side vents.
The front of the Maybach EQS SUV boasts a chrome splitter, while the sides feature 22-inch mirror-polished rims and illuminated side skirts for added flair. The SUV also features chrome trim around the windows and pillars between the front and rear doors, giving the impression that it’s longer than it actually is. Additionally, there are Maybach logos on the rear pillar and more chrome on the lower fender. Like all Maybach vehicles, the EQS SUV boasts hand-painted pinstripes in five different hues.
The Maybach EQS SUV shares some similarities with the regular Mercedes EQS SUV, such as the steering wheel and Hyperscreen infotainment system. Nevertheless, the Maybach version offers exclusive features, including new display screens with a ‘Discreet’ mode that minimizes menus and icons. The Hyperscreen has a remarkable feature that alters color to correspond with the mood lighting, which is quite impressive. Additionally, the vehicle has luxurious stainless-steel pedals, embroidered Maybach logos on the headrests, and doors that project the emblem onto the floor as passengers enter.
The Maybach EQS SUV has some serious party potential, especially when it comes to the back seats. Not only do they come with standard ventilation and massaging functions, but if you go for the First Class upgrade, you’ll be treated to the ultimate luxury experience. This includes two separate lounge chairs with a spacious center console separating them. And, of course, there are plenty of technological bells and whistles to enjoy, such as fast-charging for your phone and HDMI ports that connect to the two 12-inch infotainment screens mounted on the back of the front seats.
The screens in the Maybach are connected to the advanced Hyperscreen infotainment system at the front. This allows you to control the climate and set your destination without having to communicate with your driver verbally. As expected from a Maybach, there’s a fridge between the seats to keep your champagne cool. Additionally, the car comes equipped with insulated cup holders and elegant silver-plated champagne flutes. But let’s not forget about what’s powering this luxurious vehicle.
The Maybach EQS SUV boasts superior power compared to the highest-spec Mercedes EQS SUV 580. Equipped with two electric motors, it generates 658 horsepower and 698 lb-ft of torque, making the luxury SUV capable of accelerating from 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in a mere 4.4 seconds. Although an exact range hasn’t been disclosed, sources suggest that the Maybach EQS SUV can cover a distance of 600 kilometers (373 miles) on a single charge. While it remains unclear how much this premium vehicle will cost, it is expected to be priced above $200,000.
